World Cup Taiwan grew over the years into one of the largest events of its kind on the island, and Road to the End was made for its final edition, a weekend that drew a crowd of well over ten thousand people and then closed the whole thing out for good. Knowing in advance that this was the last one changed the way we approached the shoot, because the film had to work as a record of the event itself while also serving as a send off for something that a great many people had built their year around.

We covered the tournament from the early morning set up through the matches and into the closing celebrations, moving between the pitches, the stands and the quieter corners where teams regrouped between games, and the edit follows that arc rather than chopping the weekend into a highlights package. The result sits closer to a short documentary than to an event recap, which felt like the right call for a final edition, because it leaves the players, the organisers and the crowd enough room to carry the story themselves.
